Accident in the Himalayas, India Is Not for Beginners What started as another perfect day in the Himalayas turned into one of the hardest moments of this entire ride. We were leaving Mud Village in the Pin Valley, heading 300 kilometers back toward Rampur when one of our riders, Janelle, had a serious crash on the mountain road. It happened fast, a blind corner, loose gravel, and the kind of mistake that can cost everything out here. The team rushed to help, and thankfully she survived with a dislocated shoulder and bruises, but her bike was completely destroyed. Watching it happen reminded me how unpredictable these roads can be — India is not for beginners. Through all of this, I was reminded why I love riding here. The people, the culture, the kindness — even in the middle of chaos, there’s always someone ready to help. This is not just travel content.
