Egor Letov and his group Civil Defense are icons of the Soviet Punk, Experimental and Psychedelic Rock music genres. Unlike Kino's singer, Viktor Tsoi, Letov was unable to avoid his service in Afghanistan and had to put up with the harsh reality of war, which led him to write this song about soldier trauma.
