Hello, friends! 🌿 It feels like summer has quietly slipped away, and we’re amazed at how quickly the seasons turn here in Russia. People often ask me, “When is the best time to visit Russia?” My honest answer is always the same — don’t come here for the weather. Come for the experience. Because no matter the season, Russia has a way of surprising you with its beauty. Each time of year has revealed its own magic to us. Winter, wrapped in white snow and endless overcast skies, was still breathtaking in its silence and stillness. Then came spring — a fairytale of buds appearing on trees, flowers pushing through the soil, and life returning everywhere you look. Summer arrived with long endless days, bright blue skies, and afternoons filled with powerful rain and thunderstorms. And now… we welcome autumn. 🍂 When we first set off on this journey, we made a private promise: we would stay in Russia for at least one full year. It was a quiet vow — one I shared only with Patrick and my sister. We kept it from our parents because even the thought of us leaving for three months was painful for them. Both of us come from very close families, and stepping away from that comfort wasn’t easy. But we knew we wanted to experience every season here, and come December, we’ll have fulfilled that dream. I had been warned many times about the beauty of Russia’s seasons, but I was also told to prepare for the melancholy of October and November. I’ll admit — I’m a little apprehensive. Still, I can’t wait to see the parks and trees in their golden autumn colours. I can only imagine how stunning it will be. Меня часто спрашивают: «Когда лучше всего приезжать в Россию?» И мой ответ всегда один и тот же — не стоит ехать сюда ради погоды. Приезжайте ради впечатлений. Потому что в любое время года Россия умеет удивлять своей красотой. Каждый сезон открывает для нас свою магию. Зима, укутанная белым снегом и бесконечным серым небом, была по-своему потрясающей — тишина и спокойствие завораживали. Потом пришла весна — как настоящая сказка: почки распускаются на деревьях, цветы пробиваются сквозь землю, жизнь возвращается повсюду. Лето оказалось неожиданным: долгие, бесконечные дни, ярко-синие небеса и мощные дожди с грозами по вечерам. А теперь… мы встречаем осень. 🍂 Когда мы только начинали это путешествие, мы дали себе личное обещание: прожить в России не меньше одного года. Это было тихое, личное решение — я поделилась им только с Патриком и моей сестрой. Мы не рассказывали об этом нашим родителям, потому что даже мысль о том, что мы уедем хотя бы на три месяца, была для них тяжёлой. У нас обоих очень близкие семьи, и разлука была нелёгкой. Но мы знали, что хотим пережить здесь все сезоны, и в декабре наша мечта исполнится. Мне много раз говорили о красоте русских сезонов, но также предупреждали о мрачности октября и ноября. Честно говоря, я немного переживаю. Но, несмотря на это, я очень жду момента, когда увижу парки и деревья в их золотом осеннем убранстве. Представляю, как это будет красиво… Спасибо вам от всего сердца за то, что следите за нашим путешествием и так тепло принимаете нас в Москве.
