What started as an easy 200 km ride along the coast quickly turned into one of the wildest, wettest days of the trip so far. Thailand gave me biblical rain, flooded roads, soaked gear, and the constant fear that my electric bike Eve might cut out mid-storm. Once you’re wet, you’re wet… but when you’re on an EV, the real question is: will she keep running? From charging in the rain with no roof, to battling tailwinds, plastic-covered beaches, and gear that’s definitely not waterproof, this ride pushed me and Eve closer to the limit. Every thunderstorm makes me wonder how much longer this bike will survive — and yet, somehow, we always make it.
