Burkhan Khaldun is one of Mongolia's most sacred and historically significant mountains, located in the Khentii Mountain Range in northeastern Mongolia. Burkhan Khaldun is believed to be the birthplace and burial site of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongol Empire. The mountain is deeply associated with the early history of the Mongols and their spiritual beliefs.
