But the Simson S50 and S51 were famous for the fact that they could accelerate to 70 km/h in the drain, with a declared maximum speed of 60 km/h. Externally, it is quite difficult to see the difference between the old and the new model. The chassis remained the same.The basis is a ridge tubular frame to which the engine is attached, a body kit and a rear triangular stretcher. The design is quite simple, but has sufficient strength for this type of equipment. The Simson S51 was produced in as many as nine modifications, the difference between which was in the configuration. Simson S51 N is the basic and most budget version. It was distinguished by the absence of turn signals, a battery, the simplest rear shock absorbers and a three-speed gearbox. The next version, the S51B, already had a richer configuration - turn signals, ignition lock, battery, hydraulic shock absorbers. Over time, changes and additions were made to the S51B design, which led to the appearance of three submodefications.
