The commander-in-chief is the president of Bulgaria. The Ministry of Defense is responsible for political leadership, while overall military command is in the hands of the Defense Staff, headed by the Chief of the Defense. There are three main branches of the Bulgarian military, named literally the Land Forces, the Air Forces and the Naval Forces. Throughout history, the Army has played a major role in defending the country's sovereignty. Only several years after its inception in 1878, Bulgaria became a regional military power and was involved in several major wars – Serbo-Bulgarian War (1885), First Balkan War (1912–13), Second Balkan War (1913), First World War (1915–1918) and Second World War (1941–1945), during which the Army gained considerable combat experience. During the Cold War, the People's Republic of Bulgaria maintained one of the largest militaries in the Warsaw Pact, numbering an estimated 152,000 troops in 1988. Since the Fall of Communism, the political leadership has decided to pursue a pro-NATO policy, thus reducing military personnel and weaponry. Bulgaria joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on 29 March 2004. The patron saint of the Bulgarian Army is St. George. The Armed Forces Day or St. George's Day (6 May) is an official holiday in Bulgaria. _______________________________ ► More Military videos on:    / quasarentertainment   _______________________________ 00:00 NEW GAME 00:37 BULGARIAN ARMED FORCES 00:43 BULGARIAN LAND FORCES 00:51 - Main battle tank 01:15 - Armoured fighting vehicles. 01:39 - Armoured personnel carriers. 02:03 - Scout car 02:19 - MRAPs 02:43 - Multi-purpose armoured vehicle 03:31 - Light utility vehicle 03:47 - Truck 04:03 - Anti-tank guided missiles 04:35 - Tactical ballistic missile 04:51 - Multiple rocket launcher 05:07 - Self-propelled howitzer 05:23 - Howitzer 05:39 - Anti-tank gun 05:55 - Field gun 06:11 - Mortar carrier 06:27 - SAM systems 07:39 - Man-portable air defense systems 08:11 - Anti-aircraft guns 08:35 - Radars 09:15 - UAVs 09:55 BULGARIAN AIR FORCE 10:03 - Combat aircraft 10:35 - Transport aircraft 12:11 - Helicopters 13:31 - Trainer aircraft 14:03 - Other 14:27 BULGARIAN NAVY 14:35 - Frigates 14:51 - Corvettes / patrol vessels 15:23 - Mine countermeasures ships 15:55 - Landing craft 16:11 - Uninhabited maritime systems 16:27 - Helicopters 16:51 - Coastal defence system 17:07 FUTURE EQUIPMENTS 19:39 MY BEST ARMY Part 11: Fire Support Vehicles and Tank Destroyers #Bulgarianarmy #Bulgariannavy #Bulgarianarmedforces #Bulgarianairforce #full #review #equipment #Bulgaria #army #forces
